Brothers Grimm
1. The Brothers Grimm spent their formative years in the town of Hanau in the Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel. Their father's death in 1796 (when Jacob was 11 and Wilhelm 10) caused great poverty for the family and affected the brothers many years after.

3. Between 1812 and 1857 their first collection was revised and republished many times, growing from 86 stories to more than 200. 8. The Frog Prince
In the forest, a selfish princess accidentally drops her golden ball into a well. A frog offers to retrieve it in exchange for her friendship. She agrees but goes back on her word after getting the ball back and runs to her castle. The next day, she is eating with her father when the frog knocks on the door and requests to be let in. The king tells his daughter that she must keep her promise and she reluctantly obeys. The frog explains that he was cursed by a wicked witch and the spell could only be broken with the princess's help. The next day, the two go to the prince's kingdom where they will be married. In modern versions, the transformation is triggered by the princess kissing the frog.

9. Snow White
The fairy tale features elements such as the magic mirror, the poisoned apple, the glass coffin, and the characters of the Evil Queen and the seven Dwarfs. The seven dwarfs were first given individual names in the 1912 Broadway play Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and then given different names in Walt Disney's 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

A ball invitation comes but Cinderella can't go till her fairy godmother helps her go but only till midnight. She loses her slipper as she runs from the prince who finds it.

The miller's daughter promises him her firstborn in exchange for his services. Ultimately, she gets to keep her daughter because she guesses the man's name: Rumpelstiltskin

13. Sleeping Beauty

She can only be awakened by a true love's kiss, which a prince eventually does, breaking the curse and marrying the princess.

14. Snow White and Rose Red
"Snow White and Rose Red," are two sisters, Snow White and Rose Red live with their widowed mother in a cottage near the woods. During a harsh winter, a large bear knocks on their door seeking shelter from the cold, and the sisters, despite initial fear, welcome him into their home. The girls later encounter a wicked dwarf who repeatedly gets into trouble and is saved by them, only to be ungrateful; eventually, the bear reappears, kills the dwarf, and transforms back into a prince, revealing he was under a curse; Snow White marries the prince, Rose Red marries his brother, and they all live happily ever after.

He then sets out into the world, using his clever wit to trick giants and a king into believing his incredible strength, ultimately winning a princess's hand in marriage by outsmarting them with clever tactics, despite his small stature.

20. The Bremen Town Musicians
The Bremen Town Musicians tells the story of four ageing domestic animals, who after a lifetime of hard work are neglected and mistreated by their former masters. Eventually, they decide to run away and become town musicians in the city of Bremen. Contrary to the story's title the characters never arrive in Bremen, as they succeed in tricking and scaring off a band of robbers, capturing their spoils, and moving into their house.

With each wish, their situation worsens, and the fish eventually returns them to their original state of poverty.

During winter, the stepmother forces her stepdaughter to go out into the snow in a paper dress to find strawberries, knowing it's impossible and that the girl will freeze. The stepdaughter meets three little men and is kind to them.
